Four working groups consisting of MPs who formed the parliamentary coalition will think up the work program of the Cabinet proposed by candidate for premiership Pavel Filip. Such a decision was taken in the nominee’s meeting with the group of 14 former Communists, who created the Social-Democratic platform in Parliament, IPN reports.
The Platform’s leader Violeta Ivanov after the meeting said the working groups will center on the social, economic, legal and political sectors. In several days, the program that is designed to bring welfare to the country will be finished. The MP noted that she and her colleague know Pavel Filip as a professional with good managerial skills and they are confident that a Government led by him will be competent.
“We didn’t speak about the distribution of posts in the future Cabinet. We discussed only the standards that the Prime Minister and the ministers should meet. We think the principle of distribution must be forgotten as the people are tired of it. The principle of competence and experience must prevail,” stated Violeta Ivanov, noting that the sharing of the ministerial portfolios could be discussed today, January 18.
The candidate for premiership Pavel Filip described the meeting with the 14 MPs as constructive. “We organized well the work on the government program and identified four important areas. Starting with 2pm, these groups will accept proposals from the parliamentary groups and will ultimately include them in the program,” he stated.
The candidate voiced hope that he will get a vote of confidence from Parliament, noting he will try to convince the other MPs, besides the 55 lawmakers who signed for him, to vote for him and will meet with all the parliamentary groups that will accept a dialogue.
Today Pavel Filip will also meet with the Liberal parliamentary group, the group of seven Lib-Dems who support him and the group of the Democratic Party. Afterward, he will meet with representatives of trade unions and employers.
