Fourteen persons received injuries in 11 traffic accidents in Moldova on Saturday and Sunday. The 66-year-old driver of a Volkswagen-Golf fell asleep at the steering wheel near Ocnita town and crashed his car into a Mercedes-208 parked by the roadside. The driver was hospitalized with a cranial-cerebral trauma and concussion. Two inebriated pedestrians from Sangerei aged 36 and 32 were struck by a KAMAZ driven by a young man without a license. They were taken to the hospital with multiple injuries. A drunk 38-year-old man from Balabanesti village crashed his car into a tree. He was taken to the Chisinau Emergency Hospital with serious injuries. The 368 road accidents that happened in Moldova this year resulted in 47 deaths and 500 persons injured.
