Angela Merkel will be joined by about 50 people, on her visit to Chisinau. The German Chancellor and members of the official delegation will meet with the leaders of all Party’s that form the Moldovan Parliament. According to a communique from the German Embassy in Chisinau, Prime Minister Vlad Filat will welcome Angela Merkel with military honors, reports Info-Prim Neo. The occasion of the German official’s visit to Moldova is, among others, the jubilee of 20 years since the foundation of diplomatic relations between the German Federal Republic and the Republic of Moldova. The discussions agenda includes subjects that deal with bilateral relations, Moldova’s reformation efforts, as well as the Transnistrian settlement. The program of the visit includes bilateral meetings with Premier Vlad Filat, President Nicolae Timofti, Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu, and leaders of Parliamentary Parties. On Wednesday, August 22, at 6pm, Angela Merkel will give a speech to the MPs and some guests, in front of the Republican Palace, but will also talk in a press conference at the State Residence beforehand. Additionally, the Federal Chancellor will lay flowers at the Stefan cel Mare si Sfant monument.
