Mihai Godea, independent candidate for mayor of Chisinau, said the decision to withdraw Victor Bodiu from the electoral race is a good political move, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting www.publika.md
The ex-first vice president of the PLDM said this decision can bring advantages to the PLDM as it would be able to gain more seats on the Chisinau Municipal Council.
As to Dorin Chirtoaca’s chances in elections, Mihai Godea said that he would not win the elections by the first round. “If I entered the competition, I will fight until the end,” he stated.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat, the president of the PLDM, in a press briefing on May 6 announced that Victor Bodiu abandoned the race and the party will support the Liberal Party’s candidate Dorin Chirtoaca.
On May 4, Mihai Godea informed that he decided to leave the PLDM, while one day earlier he made public his intention to run independently for mayor general of Chisinau.
