The Ministers arrived in Balti where the Government meeting takes place today, August 1. Although some locals announced they would meet the ministers with rotten eggs and vegetables, this didn’t happen and the meeting started without incidents at the scheduled hour, Info-Prim Neo reports. Most of the members of the Cabinet attend the meeting, which is a deliberative one. Prime Minister Vlad Filat said it was impossible to organize the meeting at the Balti City Hall, but promised he would go to meet the municipal councilors and the heads of divisions. Vlad Filat dismissed speculations that the meeting was related to the recent events in Balti, where the Communists councilors decided to hold a referendum and extend the city's autonomy. The ministers have several drafts on the agenda. They will approve some proposals regarding the amendment of the legislative framework. One issue includes the ratification of the Agreement between Moldova and Romania on military cooperation. The Government will also ratify the Agreement regarding the publishing of information between Moldova and the EBRD.
