Group of Socialist meets with representatives of CMC parties
The municipal group of Socialist councilors headed by Viorel Melnic, a member of the political executive of the Party of Socialists of Moldova (PSRM), Tuesday had a meeting with representatives of the parties of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC). The meeting focused on the difficult situation in the municipality. The Socialists reasserted their readiness to contribute to solving the problems confronting the Chisinau residents by promoting economic and social projects, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the PSRM.
Viorel Melnic said the Socialists consider only professionals selected on a contest basis must be named to key posts in the City Hall. “I reassert that the Socialists do not claim posts. We are for the swift and efficient solving of the city’s problems,” he stated.
Two councilors who left the Communist faction - Elena Danu and Petru Dontsov - on January 30 announced that they decided to create the group of Socialists on the CMC. Now the Communist faction has 24 members, while the parties of the Alliance for European Integration have 25 councilors.
