Iurie Tabarta, the former director of the National Television and of the National Regulatory Agency for Telecommunications and Informatics, former member of the Broadcasting Coordination Council and president of the Supervisory Board of the National Public Broadcaster Teleradio – Moldova, passed away on the night of November 22 in a clinic in Strasbourg. He suffered from a serious disease. He was an extraordinary man, a good friend and a worthy journalist, en exemplary father and husband, a son of this country that he loved very much. He left behind his grieving wife, two children and a one-year-old nephew, two sisters and a lot of relatives and friends. He died abroad, hoping to return home, but not in a brass coffin. He was sure he will be cured as the doctors in Strasbourg encouraged him. He spent his last days near his wife and daughter. On Saturday morning, when he was brought back to the hospital in a serious condition, he told his wife and daughter that the end was coming. Shortly afterward, he went into a coma. His eyes were crying... He was only 54... The burial date is not yet known. Iurie Tabarta is still in Strasbourg. His daughter Irina is with him. She is preparing the documents needed to transport his body to Chisinau. He could be brought on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. His wife Tatiana said her husband will spend a night in the house that he built himself and where he raised his children. Iurie Tabarta's body will be placed at the Army House, where all those who loved and respected him can bid farewell to him. He will be buried at the Central Cemetery in Chisinau. God rest his soul!
