The Ministry of Justice and the Central Election Commission refuse to remove the Communist Reformist Party (PCR) from the electoral race in order to induce the people voting for the Communist Party of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM), said the head of the Communists’ electoral staff Artur Reshetnicov, quoted by IPN.
Artur Reshetnicov noted that the court banned registering any party with the ‘hammer and sickle’ as its symbols, while the Communist Reformist Party has a similar symbol – the hammer and ear, the ear being drawn in the form of a sickle. There is a definitive and irrevocable court decision to suspend the Ministry of Justice’s decision to register the Communist Reformist Party, which was passed following a complaint filed by the PCRM.
According to Artur Reshetnicov, the PCRM demanded that the Ministry of Justice and the Central Election Commission should implement the court decision, but none of them took steps. The two institutions fulfill a political order and act as the ruling parties controlling them tell them. Activists of the PCRM already staged several protests and will mount new protests where they will demand obeying the law.
