“Christmas reminds us that we have an old tradition that unites us and keeps us together,” President Nicolae Timofti says in a message by which he wishes “Merry Christmas!” to the people, IPN reports.

“On these days of uplifting spirituality, when carolers bring the Great News, I want to share with you the joy of the birth of Chris,” says the head of state.

“Today all our thoughts and roads lead to our families. Dear people, the smell of cakes and other things full of meaning and love are waiting for us home. These are moments when the feelings of generosity and compassion for the lonely people and people in need prevail. The nice things derive from good intentions and kindheartedness.”
