The leader of the parliamentary group of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova Valeriu Strelet said the ‘hot autumn’ will start with the procedure for electing the head of state. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the lawmaker said this period will be characterized by public debates, contradictory opinions of the political class, attempts to reach compromises, etc.
”The election of the head of state will be the most important topic of this autumn. A number of events, debates, discussions will center upon this issue, including who will be the candidate for presidency and who will support him/her. They can make things on the political arena heat up,” said Valeriu Strelet.
He also said this autumn will be also ‘hot’ for the reforms that will be promoted and the steps that will be taken to overcome the political crisis. “The situation will become heated only because some of the political forces understand the reform strategy and the necessity of implementing reforms in a different way. But the reforms can no longer be postponed. We will follow how the reforms aimed at liquidating the monopolies in a number of vital areas are carried out,” said the lawmaker.
He stressed that effort will be made to avoid early elections that can lead to political instability and this would have serious consequences for the European integration process and the implementation of reforms.
Representatives of the political class said earlier that this autumn will be a ‘hot’ one.
