President Igor Dodon does not rule out the possibility that he will reject both of the candidates proposed by the Democratic Party – former acting mayor of Chisinau Silvia Radu for minister of health, labor and social protection and director of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture Nicolae Ciubuc for minister of agriculture, regional development and environment. The President noted one of the two candidates was a surprise for him, IPN reports.

Igor Dodon said that on September 16 he was contacted by Prime Minister Pavel Filip with whom he discussed the Cabinet reshuffle, but the next day he was surprised at one of the proposed candidates, without specifying which one. “I will sign the decisions to remove the current two ministers. As to the appointment of the new ministers, I will examine them together with my colleagues and will take a decision,” he stated in the talk show “Moldova live” on Moldova 1 channel.

President Dodon said professionalism, knowledge of the area and the candidate’s integrity are the main features that count in these posts. He will discuss again with the Premier to see if this is ready to change the nominations if he does not accept one of them. “It can happen that we will accept none of the two candidates,” noted Igor Dodon.
