“Mister Filat made me a present on his birthday. It is an electoral present,” the Communist Party’s candidate for mayor of Chisinau Igor Dodon said, commenting on the Liberal Democratic Party’s decision to withdraw Victor Bodiu from the electoral race, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a communiqué published immediately after the press briefing given by Vlad Filat, Igor Dodon says that by withdrawing Victor Bodiu from the competition, the Premier created all the preconditions for him to win the mayoral elections in the first round. “The people are dissatisfied with the state of affairs in Chisinau and the work done by the current mayor Dorin Chirtoaca and will no more disperse their votes. They will mobilize and support me,” said the Communist candidate.
