Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean announced that an investigation was started into the incident that involved Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, IPN reports.

On a social networking site, the mayor wrote that in the evening of July 2 he was followed in traffic and was subject to the breath test. The scene was filmed by a person in civvies, who spoke rudely to him and accused him of driving under the influence. The alcohol test showed yet that the mayor was sober.

Questioned in Parliament, Dorin Recean said the person who filmed the incident, activist Andrei Donica, was summoned to the police to provide explanations so that they could clarify the circumstances.

The Liberal MPs said the police cooperated with the person who filmed the incident. The minister denied this, saying he will not accept the political class to influence the police.
