The leader of the Socialist group on the Chisinau Municipal Council Ion Ceban said that he voted for a more beautiful and more convenient city for everyone. Ceban presented himself at the polling place together with his wife and children, IPN reports.

Asked by journalists what he voted for, the Socialist councilor said he voted for a better and friendlier town for everyone, young to old.

About 15,000 citizens cast their ballots in the referendum on the dismissal of the mayor general of Chisinau municipality by 10am.

The referendum will be validated if the turnout is of at least one third of the voters put on the main electoral registers that total 628 683.
