Irish Chairmanship of OSCE will make “5+2” format talks periodic and consistent
The Irish Chairmanship of OSCE will try hard to make the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the “5+2” format periodic and consistent, the Special Representative of the Irish Chairmanship of OSCE for the Transnistrian conflict Erwan Fouere said in a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Foreign Ministry.
Erwan Fouere stressed that OSCE will facilitate the promotion of the measures aimed at building confidence between the banks of the Nistru, specifying that Ireland is ready to share its experience in resolving conflicts.
Iurie Leanca said Moldova wants the negotiations to make significant progress this year both within the political talks in the “5+2” format and in the context of the promotion of the confidence-building measures and the solving of sector problems.
The formal Transnistrian conflict settlement talks in the “5+2” format were resumed on November 30 - December 1, 2011. The next round of talks will take place at the end of February.
