Iurie Leanca: I voted for overcoming tragic situation experienced by Moldova

“I voted for overcoming the tragic situation experienced now by Moldova as the country entered a profound political and social crisis and does not have a government, a parliamentary majority and clear perspectives,” said the chairman of the European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM) Iurie Leanca, quoted by IPN.

In a message posted on a social networking site, the former Premier wrote that by his today’s vote he got back the vote he cast on November 30, 2014 which the current government used cynically against the Moldovan people.

The leader of the PPEM called upon the voters to take part in the elections. “Today the people can vote to take the country back and to punish those who stole their pro-European vote on November 30 last year. It is a day when the people, by their vote, can bring back Moldova in Europe, in the good and prosperous community. We will start to do this in the country’s districts and will end with the removal from power of the corrupt persons who took Moldova hostage,” said Leanca.

He also urged the voters to show solidarity. “I think that today our solidarity, of the Moldovans, is more important than ever. The threat to our country’s future comes not from outside, but from inside, given some persons’ wish to obtain power and money and to control everything in this country, including the air we breathe,” stated Iurie Leanca.

Leanca voted in Ialoveni town, where he has his domicile.
