The leader of the European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM) Iurie Leanca called on his former colleagues from the Liberal Democratic Party and on the other parties of the right to find a formula and form a new ruling alliance, IPN reports.

“I call upon those who were elected on November 30, 2014 on the pro-European platform. I call in particular on the colleagues from the PLDM. Nobody hinders them from making an invitation, from formulating proposals about how to form a government coalition. I appeal to reason, responsibility and maturity so that we overcome this crisis,” Leanca said in a news conference.

According to the leader of the PPEM, the loss of hope and perspective is the worst thing that happened in 2015. “We now must draw a line and find a solution to go further. Our partners still have confidence in us. I consider that we haven’t yet reached the point when the situation is no longer remediable and we move towards an abyss. Our colleagues from outside the country know very well what’s going on in Chisinau. They think that we need a system solution and should start with justice and the anticorruption institutions,” stated Leanca.

The leader of the PPEM said the foreign partners are ready to help Moldova identify the priorities and act as guarantors for these priorities to be put into practice. A group of members of the PPEM made a visit to Germany to meet with German politicians and officials. “These meetings allowed us to see what Germany thinks about the situation in the Republic of Moldova. It wants a government that would take the country on to be formed in our country as soon as possible,” stated PPEM member Valeriu Chiveri.

According to Chiveri, the German politicians sent positive signals to Moldova. It was announced that the PPEM could join the family of the European People’s Party.
