Interim Prime Minister Iurie Leanca sent a letter of condolence to the Russian Premier Dmitry Medvedev in connection with the fire that broke out in a psychiatric hospital in Moscow region, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government.

“In the name of the Government of Moldova, I offer you our condolence over the tragedy that resulted in losses of human lives. In this moment of sadness, I ask you to offer our sincere support and compassion to the relatives and close people of those affected,” reads the letter.

The fire started on the night of April 26. It claimed 38 lives, including of two medical workers. The cause of fire hasn’t been yet established. A preliminary report shows it was a short circuit. The hospital is situated in Ramenskiy town of Moscow region
