Iurie Leanca suggests making some secret Government decisions known

Ex-Premier Iurie Leanc, when being questioned by the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the situation on the currency market, urged the members of the commission to make public his correspondence of Prime Minister with other state institutions from the time the crisis elements started to take shape. He also suggested making known some of the Government decisions that formed part of a plan of action, IPN reports.

After the questioning, Iurie Leanca said that he is ready to help the commission and all the competent institutions to discover the truth. The state institutions that didn’t fulfill their duties should be penalized.

The leader of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) Igor Dodon, who is a member of the commission, said one of the conclusions reached as a result of the hearings is that the schemes to steal money from the three banks involved (BEM, Banca Sociala and Unibank) were planned beforehand and the legislation was amended so that the executive could provide guarantees for loans. Such state institutions as the National Bank and the National Anticorruption Center didn’t take the necessary measures to cope with the situation. This shows they acted in collusion with those who committed the theft. The PSRM is compiling an alternative report that will be presented either in Parliament or at a news conference.
