The leaders of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), the Democratic Party (PDM) and the Liberal Party (PL), after a new round of talks on July 17, said the negotiation process goes on. They said that even if a final decision hasn’t been yet reached, they made progress in all respects and thoroughly discussed the draft political agreement of the future coalition and the draft government program, IPN reports.
The chairman of the PLDM Vlad Filat said that as they announced earlier, the Government will be invested by the end of July. “The negotiations continue and we are following a right path. We are very close to a final decision,” he stated.
The leader of the PDM Marian Lupu stated that the parliamentary coalition will be created by the end of this month and the Government will not only be nominated, but will also be voted in by Parliament by the same time limit. “We should not say now at what stage each component is, 98% or 99% ready, as it is the general picture and the final decision that count. We follow the normal logic of talks and I want to say that today we made very good progress. There are a lot of areas on which our discussions focus,” he stated, adding that the political agreement and practically all the elements of the government program were discussed in detail.
“What is important is to form an alliance and whether it is formed one day earlier or one day later does not really count. If an alliance exists, we will have a European course and will be able to overcome the crisis we face and to improve the situation in Moldova,” said the leader of the PL Mihai Ghimpu.
The negotiations to form a ruling alliance began at the end of June. They involve the three pro-European parties.
