The government program “European Integration: Freedom, Democracy, Welfare”, proposed by Prime Minister designate Iurie Leanca, defines the policies for the next one year and a half before the ordinary parliamentary elections. This period, even if it’s short for a Government with ambitious development tasks, is very important for Moldova’s development, it is said in the program, IPN reports.
The Leanca Government pledges to bring the European integration process to a point of irreversibility. It will also concentrate all its efforts and resources to obtain the signing and coming into force of the Association Agreement with the European Union, the Visa Liberalization Agreement and the Agreement on the Creation of a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area. “This is possible in conditions of political stability and firm commitment to implement the European standards concerning democracy and the rule of law,” reads the document.
Under the program, the internal reform agenda is aimed at ensuring the prosperity of the Moldovan people. The creation of new workplaces will be both the motive and the result of the efforts made to accelerate and promote definite reforms designed to improve the business climate, to attract investments to the economy, to promote exports, and to liberalize the home market of goods and services.
The deep-rooted corruption at all levels hinders the development and modernization of Moldova. The prevention and combating of corruption by increasing transparency and access to information, modernization of the public administration and implementation of electronic governance in the relations between the state and the people, ensuring of transparency in the activity of the political parties, promotion of the reformation of the law enforcement bodies by ensuring independence and many other measures stipulated in the document are designed to contribute to achieving the fundamental objective of the government program.
The Government will obtain sustainable and inclusive economic growth by accelerating the structural reforms needed in a period of transition to modern economy based on investments, innovations and competitiveness. Economic welfare and improved economic competitiveness will be ensured by liberalizing economic activity, creating a friendly business environment, attracting investments to the sectors with growth potential, promoting pro-active industrial policies, modernizing infrastructure, developing skilled and productive labor force, etc.
