Lib-Dems ask Alliance partners to endorse three more bills
The Liberal Democratic Party is asking its partner parties from the Eurointegration Alliance to support three more legislative initiatives submitted by PLDM to Parliament, before the legislature enters its summer recess, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Valeriu Strelet, PLDM vice-president and the leader of the party's faction in Parliament, told a press conference on Tuesday, that the bills have been already submitted to the Parliament's Standing Bureau and are to be discussed within the Alliance.
One bill proposes amending the Cabinet Law, specifically Arts. 25, 26, 27 and 29, by abolishing the institution of Presidium. “This amendment will allow the Cabinet to adopt decisions with the vote of the majority of ministers attending, and ordinances with the vote of the Cabinet majority”, explained Valeriu Strelet.
Another proposal is to introduce collective and individual political and legal responsibility of Cabinet members and public dignitaries. “The law is one for all, regardless of one's position. Unwarranted absenteeism from the Cabinet's meetings, failure to appear before Parliament when summoned, all these must be punished”, explained Lib-Dem MP Tudor Deliu.
The third bill is proposed in recognition of the members of the First Moldovan Parliament, those who signed Moldova's Declaration of Independence twenty years ago, and suggests granting them a number of privileges, like free recuperation treatment once in two years and permission to hold diplomatic passports.
Last week, PLDM asked its Alliance partners to endorse two other bills, one annulling parliamentary immunity and the other liquidating specialized courts of law.
