The deputy chairman of the Liberal Party (PL) Valeriu Munteanu submitted a complaint to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) by which he requested to take legal action and to hold accountable acting mayor Ruslan Codreanu for the reason that this named himself to post, by an order signed him, IPN reports.
Valeriu Munteanu accuses Ruslan Codreanu of usurpation of the official position and arbitrariness. According to him, the self-appointment of Ruslan Codreanu as acting mayor general of Chisinau municipality is an unprecedented act in Moldova’s history, borrowed from the medieval practices of seizure of power.
The politician also said the acting mayor’s act discredits the activity of the local administration and undermines the people’s trust. “Mister Codreanu’s acts pose an increased social danger as the legitimate rights and interests of the citizens and organizations in the municipality of Chisinau are seriously violated,” he wrote in his complaint.
Valeriu Munteanu asks to examine the complaint in the shortest time possible.
