Democrat leader Marian Lupu collected fifty-seven MP's signatures to become the Eurointegration Alliance's nominee for President of Moldova , Info-Prim Neo
The only Eurointegration Alliance parliamentarian who didn't sign for Lupu was Liberal-Democrat Iurie Toma, who earlier renounced his MP's seat to become the head of Ungheni district.
Marian Lupu told reporters he had already passed the required medical examination and would formally register as candidate early next week.
At least 15 MP's signatures are required to nominate a presidential candidate. The last day when nominees may register is December 13.
The President is elected by at least 61 votes in Parliament.
