The competent institutions of Moldova delay the process of investigating the banking frauds. Also, the government delays agreeing the measures to recover the embezzled funds with the company Kroll, leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) Maia Sandu stated in the program “Important” on TVC21 channel.
“It is very clear that we will not have free access to information from the Kroll 2 report. It is even more serious that the government does not move on. Even if the information is not available to anyone, Kroll should go on and get in touch with foreign institutions to launch the procedure for recovering the money. “As far as I know, the government delays agreeing the recovery measures with Kroll and the problem resides in this,” said Maia Sandu.
She also said that the national investigation institutions also delay the process. The delay in trying the case of Ilan Shor is a clear proof of this. “The idea is clear – if there is no conviction, the person is free and can thus spend the stolen money, run in the parliamentary election and even enter Parliament, in the worst case,” noted the PAS leader.
According to her, no money of the stolen funds has been yet recovered and this is the most relevant example of the government’s unwillingness to deal with the banking frauds. “The fact that Ilan Shor is free and that nothing of the stolen funds was recovered shows how justice is done and how the Democratic Party rules in the Republic of Moldova,” stated Maia Sandu.
