Marian Lupu: AEI will have common staff for referendum

The chairman of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu said the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) will have a common staff for the constitutional referendum. It will be a coordination council or a coordination group. “The form does not change essentially,” Marian Lupu told the journalists during an event on Friday. Earlier, the head of the Liberal Democratic Party Vlad Filat said the alliance will not have a common staff, but will be united in its actions, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We agreed not to make separate statements. We work at the level of experts and any position that we make public should be a position agreed within the alliance. This is a determining principle, which shows society that the alliance is a power. I’m sorry that deviations are made from these agreements accepted by everyone,” said Marian Lupu. He also said that in the near future the alliance will meet to discuss the proposal for amending the Constitution by referendum. A meeting may take place at the end of this week or the start of next week. The AEI announced that a constitutional referendum will be held in April at the latest to simplify the procedure for electing the head of state.
