Marian Lupu: I don’t want to put my colleagues in a delicate situation

The members of the ruling alliance did not react to the Democratic leader Marian Lupu’s call to convene the meeting of the AEI to consider strengthening the political forces after the June 5 local elections. “We still have time, but we should not avoid meeting after June 5. Until today, we have not exchanged opinions. I believe that my colleagues had field trips, as I had,” Marian Lupu said Wednesday, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. He reiterated that the proposal to hold a meeting of the AEI to discuss post-election strategies was put forward after he met with representatives of a number of EU member states. “It was not an invitation. I expressed my position after I discussed with leaders of EU member states, who follow attentively the election campaign and the local elections in Moldova. This thing inspired me to say that we should meet before June 5 and discuss our post-election strategies. I don’t want to put my colleagues in a delicate situation. That’s why I said that I only expressed my stance,” Marian Lupu said. In a press briefing earlier this week, the head of the Democratic Party called on the colleagues from the AEI to come together and consider the steps that should be taken after June 5.
