“I voted for a really European capital city, for more accomplishments and for a mayor and a team that will work with devotion to promote the interests of every resident of Chisinau municipality,” the leader of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu wrote on a social networking site, IPN reports.

The Democratic leader also posted several pictures of him and his wife at the polling place.

More than 2.8 million voters are expected to cast their ballots in today’s elections and to choose their mayors and local and district councilors for the next four-year term. The polling places are open between 7am until 9pm.
