The leader of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu is the only candidate for the post of President of Moldova, the chairman of the special commission for the election of the head of state Tudor Deliu has told Info-Prim Neo. The deadline for applications was December 13. Before submitting the documents required to be registered as a candidate, Marian Lupu gave a press briefing where he said that Moldova needs stability and prosperity and the election of the head of state will be a first step towards modernizing the country. “I think we must bring this row of ambiguities in policies to an end and govern the country for the people’s benefit,” said the leader of the PDM. The presidential elections were set for December 16.
