Marian Lupu: Parliament is 80% functional
“The legislature's Standing Bureau was constituted and this is not only a technical action. If less than ¾ of the members of the Bureau had not been designated, this working body and the Parliament itself would have been nonfunctional,” Speaker Marian Lupu said after the extraordinary session of the legislative body, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Marian Lupu said the delegation of representatives of all the parliamentary groups to work on the Standing Bureau made the legislature 80% functional. The method of adopting the decision concerning the number of permanent commissions and their composition was agreed.
“Today and tomorrow, all the parliamentary groups must convene and decide who will work on the commissions. Thus, on Friday we will be able examine the government program and composition of the Cabinet that will be presented by the Prime Minister designate,” said Marian Lupu.
The Acting President also said that the amendments to the Law on the Government modify the structure of the State Chancellery and of the Government's Secretariat. He added that the person who will head the Secretariat will deal not with the political, but the technical and functional aspects of the Government's work and will not be a member of the Cabinet.
