Marian Lupu surpassed by Vlad Filat and Vladimir Voronin in popular approval rankings
The leader of the Liberal-Democratic Party of Moldova Vlad Filat is the most trusted political figure in Moldova, shows the Public Opinion Barometer presented by the Public Policy Institute on November 16.
Asked whom of the political leaders they trust the most, 18% of the respondents said they trust Vlad Filat, 17% - the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin, while 10% - the leader of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu. The Liberal leader and Acting President Mihai Ghimpu is trusted by about 5% of those polled, while the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, the vice chairman of the Liberal Party – by 2%.
The answers to the question “How much do you trust the following political personalities?” have changed by several percentage points compared with last November.
In 2009, the popular approval rankings were headed by Marian Lupu, who was trusted by 50% of the respondents. The last Public Opinion Barometer gave the Democrat leader a popular approval rating of 35.6%., while the leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat – of 43%, as against 45% in 2009. As last year, Vladimir Voronin comes second with 35.8%, as opposed to 39% in November 2009.
The poll was commissioned by the Public Policy Institute and conducted by the Marketing and Polling Institute IMAS-INC Chisinau between October 17 and November 7. It covered a sample of 1,104 persons. The margin of sampling error is +3%.
