The Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu said it is possible to identify a candidate for the post of Prime Minister by the end of this week, but it depends on the Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat, IPN reports.

In the program “In depth” on Pro TV channel, Mihai Ghimpu said the solution is for the PLDM to propose another candidate if its wants to apply for the post of Premier. It should not insist on the candidacy of Vlad Filat.

He also said that he has nothing personal with Vlad Filat, but will not accept him as Premier because he discredited himself completely. According to the Liberal, Vlad Filat betrayed his alliance colleagues when he denounced the AEI agreement and he will be to blame if early legislative elections are held. If elections take place, it will be clear that Filat plays Russia’s game.

”I’m not interested in Filat. I speak about the alliance and the people. The democratic values are discredited, but they shouldn’t be. I’m not concerned about the rescuing of Ghimpu, Filat, Plahotniuc, but about a clean alliance. This means uncorrupt people. We will not vote for a Premier who went against the law. I mean politically, not legally. The AEI’s political image was damaged,” said the Liberal leader.

Mihai Ghimpu stressed that the representatives of the three parties to the negotiations are now discussing principles and values, the agreement and the functioning mechanisms, but they didn’t yet consider possible candidates for premiership.
