Mihai Ghimpu: Liberal Party cannot vote in Vlad Filat as Premier

The Liberal Party will not vote in Vlad Filat as Premier, the party’s leader Mihai Ghimpu said on March 13. According to Ghimpu, the party he heads will not vote for a person who gives orders by phone, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Vlad Filat as Premier means goodbye to the European course. The Liberal Democratic Party can apply for this post, but with another candidate,” Mihai Ghimpu told a news conference. According to the Liberal leader, the party’s program stipulates that they will not tolerate acts of traffic of influence and corruption. “We want an alliance for the people. We want to advance on the European road. Nowhere in the world officials who flouted the law continue to hold the posts,” he stated. He also said that those who discredited the Alliance for European Integration 2 must not form part of the Government. Mihai Ghimpu is convinced that early elections will not take place as they would mean the death of the Liberal Democratic Party. On March 13, the three parties that were part of the ruling alliance are holding talks to identity solutions to the political crisis.
