Mihai Godea suggests seven steps for modernizing infrastructure in Chisinau

Independent candidate for mayor of Chisinau Mihai Godea proposes seven steps aimed at modernizing the infrastructure and the system of public utilities in the capital city. The electoral offer was presented in front of the head office of Apa-Canal Chisinau on May 27, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The municipal companies that supply water and heat – Apa-Canal Chisinau and Termocom – will be restructured and outfitted with modern equipment so as to reduce the losses in the network, decrease the charges and provide services of a high quality,” said Mihai Godea. He also said that a strategy will be worked out for rehabilitating the Chisinau Wastewater Treatment Station. He promised to diversify the industrial technologies for treating the drinking water and to extend the water supply and sewerage system by encouraging the creation of decentralized systems where the centralized supply is very expensive. According to Mihai Godea, the streets in the municipality will be maintained and repaired. A feasibility study will be made to set up a modern municipal waste dump that would meet the European standards. The candidate pledged to attract European financing to buy garbage bins and to collect the waste selectively. He said he will develop the public lighting service and will propose fixing special tariffs on the power supplied for the lighting systems in pre-stable periods. Mihai Godea said he will plead for reasonable prices for accessible and ecological dwellings and will modify and develop the First House Program so as to improve access to it. He promised to make the process of issuing urbanism and other kinds of certificates transparent and to create special areas exclusively for pedestrians. In the ballot for the mayoral elections, Mihai Godea is under No. 14.
