Moldova presents draft Action Plan for Free Trade Agreement with EU

A delegation of the Moldovan Government headed by Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac presented the draft Action Plan for the future negotiations on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and the EU in Brussels on November 11, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Government. The European Commission informed about the extension of the Autonomous Trade Preferences for 2013-2015 and the rise in the quota on the export of wine from 2011. It recommended the Government of Moldova to set a mechanism for monitoring and reporting the progress made in implementing the planned measures and to regularly present progress reports. The Action Plan is a complex document designed to fulfill the key and additional recommendations presented by the European Commission on October 26, after an assessment mission worked in Moldova between May 31 and June 2. The document includes 13 chapters based on the official recommendations of the European Commission, including technical barriers to trade, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, customs aspects, rules of origin, services and investigations, intellectual rights, and public procurement.
