The national women’s U-19 squad was beaten 2-2 by the similar team of the Faroe Islands in the last match of the 2013/2014 European Championship preliminaries. Moldova ranked third and was thus eliminated from the competition, IPN has learned from the Moldovan Football Federation.

The goals for Moldova were scored by Cristina Cerescu (45th minute) and Claudia Chiper (92nd minute). In the other match of Group 4, Finland beat the Czech Republic 3-1.

In the first two matches, Moldova was defeated by Finland and the Czech Republic, which come top in the group. The first-ranked team qualifies automatically for the championship, while the second-ranked squad has to play friendly matches.
