Head of Parliament Andrian Candu, accompanied by a parliamentary delegation, is taking part in the meeting of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), held in Russia’s Saint Petersburg on April 16-17, IPN reports, quoting the Parliament’s press service.
During the two days, the MPs will discuss and adopt a series of model legal acts for the CIS member states and the program of events planned for 2015. The CIS election observation mission will present reports on the monitoring of the parliamentary elections in Moldova and of the elections in Tajikistan.
While in Saint Petersburg, Andrian Candu will have separate meetings with the chairman of the Russian State Duma Sergey Naryshkin and chairwoman of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Valentina Matvienko.
The parliamentary delegation of Moldova consists of Deputy Speaker Vladimir Vitiuc, MP Ion Balan and chairman of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia Dmitrii Constantinov. It is for the first time that the official delegation of Moldova’s Parliament includes a representative of the administration of the Gagauz People’s Assembly.
