The lawmakers who will vote in favor of Nicolae Timofti will leave the ballots empty, while those who will vote against will cross the name with a pen. The procedure was specified by the chairman of the special commission for the organization of the elections Tudor Deliu, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The ballots that will have other names or signs on them will be invalidated.
The Parliament’s sitting is attended by 65 MPs – 58 lawmakers of the Alliance for European Integration, unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea, the three Socialist MPs and three Communist lawmakers. The Communists said they came to monitor the voting process and will not take part in the elections.
To be elected President, the candidate must win least 61 votes of MP.
