Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Natalia Gherman and Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmic were threatened with death by Communist lawmaker Grigore Petrenko, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca announced in the April 3 sitting of Parliament. He requested the law enforcement bodies to take attitude, IPN reports.

Iurie Leanca said he possesses a statement issued by the two officials, which was countersigned by four deputy ministers. “When we come to power, I will personally make sure that you are taken out with your legs ahead,” the Premier cited from the threat uttered by the Communist MP. According to him, Natalia Gheman asked if ‘in the grave’ and Petrenco answered affirmatively.

“I think you are a very unhappy case,” Iurie Leanca said, addressing Grigore Petrenco.

In the same meeting, Communist MP Alexandr Petkov said it is the living coalition that will be taken out with the legs ahead. Grigore Petrenco made no comment.

Parliament is examining the censure motion against the Government submitted by the Communist faction.
