The Central Standing Bureau and the parliamentary group of the Liberal Democratic Party decided that there are no reasons for convoking the National Political Council. The decision was taken in a joint meeting on December 7, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the party.
According to the press release, the participants in the meeting summed up the results of the consultations held on December 1-5 with the parties that aim to form a government that will be able to maintain the European course of Moldova.
“The meeting decided that there are no reasons and preconditions for convoking the National Political Council of the PLDM because the parties taking part in the consultations didn’t clearly and trenchantly state their position as to the model and conditions in which the future parliamentary majority can be formed,” it is said in the press release.
The Standing Bureau also demands that the parties taking part in the consultations should urgently and publicly announce their position on the preconditions for achieving the objective of forming the new ruling alliance.
The discussions held by the PDM, PLDM, PL and PPEM on December 5 ended with no results. According to the acting leader of the PLDM Valeriu Strelet, the party’s National Political Council will be convoked again to specify the mandate of the group of negotiators on behalf of the PLDM. Under the statutes of the party, the Council can be convoked by the Central Standing Bureau.
