A new civic movement called “Professionalism and Responsibility for the People” or PRO Movement was launched in Moldova on October 1.

In a press briefing at IPN, Gheorghe Costandaki, the leader of the initiative group, said that in the current context in the Republic of Moldova, the PRO Movement appears as an alternative designed to alleviate the situation as regards the management of state and political processes and as a solution to stop the degradation and disintegration of the socioeconomic and political system and also as a prospect for appropriately arranging things in the country, by proper attitude, responsibility, discipline and devotion.

According to Gheorghe Costandaki, the PRO Movement comes with new approaches, criteria, principles and objectives. It is oriented to the West and is for the real and swift integration of Moldova into the European Union. The members of the Pro Movement will struggle against no one and nothing. They will center on positive things and will plead for decent revenues, for a society without corruption, for a professional and courageous government, for correct and independent justice. Among the Movement’s principles are faith in God and such personal qualities as irreproachable past, uprightness, courage, moral, material, financial and social integrity.

The representatives of the PRO Movement are convinced that citizens’ problems can be solved, the exodus of people can be stopped and conditions can be even created for many of those who went abroad to return home. They noted they found solutions for creating a functional market economy, stimulating investments and building a competitive business environment.

The members of the PRO Movement assured they are not allies of a party or a political figure. They intend to soon hold a series of a new conference where they will provide details about the movement.
