New radio station to be launched in Chisinau

A new radio station will start work in Moldova soon. On January 26, the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) issued I.M. “Stiri Media Grup” with a broadcast license for “Publica FM” that will use the 92.10 FM frequency, Info-Prim Neo reports. The radio station “Publica FM” competed for the given frequency alongside other five contenders. BCC chairman Gheorghe Gorincioi said the new radio station will broadcast news programs. “Unfortunately, the national radio stations lay emphasis on music and publicity. The new station aims to broadcast news and correctly and quickly inform the listeners about the events taking place in Moldova,” Gheorghe Gorincioi said. According to the director of “Publica FM” Dumitru Tara, the radio station created already a team of journalists, many of whom work simultaneously for the television channel “Publika TV” and the news portal “Publika.md” that will be launched soon. “We will focus on such values as truth, equidistance and impartiality,” Dumitru Tara said. Five local TV channels and 25 radio stations took part in the contest for obtaining the use of 11 radio frequencies and TV channels.
