New U.S. Ambassador in Chisinau reiterates support for Moldova
The new U.S. Ambassador to Moldova William H. Moser reiterated the readiness of the United States to continue supporting Moldova in all the areas of development and to offer the assistance needed in improving the administration systems and creating a favorable investment climate. The Ambassador expressed his willingness to have open cooperation relations during his tenure, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government.
“It is the start of very good relations. I’m convinced that we will manage to work together so as to help Moldova achieve the set objectives,” the Ambassador said in a meeting with Prime Minister Vlad Filat.
For his part, the Premier thanked the U.S. official for the constant support that the United States provided in promoting the democratic values, freedoms and principles of a market economy in Moldova. Vlad Filat appreciated the role of the U.S. in promoting reforms aimed at fostering Moldova’s European integration and in the process of reintegrating the country.
The Premier highlighted the consistency of the cooperation program between the two states, which contains a set of very important projects, especially the Compact Program.
William H. Moser was nominated by President Barack Obama on May 9, 2011 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on August 2, 2011. On September 21, Ambassador Moser presented his credentials to Acting President Marian Lupu.
