President Nicolae Timofti was given the highest award of the Romanian state – the National Oder “Star of Romania”. A decree to this effect was signed by the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis, IPN reports.

The award was conferred on Nicolae Timofti in appreciation for his personal contribution to developing the relations of friendship and cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, for supporting the democratic and European course of Moldova.
