Of the nine aspirants, two were already registered as contenders. These are Alexandru Usatyi, of the Party of Socialists, and Arina Spataru, of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”.

Applications to the Electoral Council were also submitted by: Pavel Verejan, of the Shor Party; Nicolae Grigorishin, of Our Party; Sergey Burlacu, of the National Unity Party; Simion Gutu, of the Party “Action and Solidarity”, and  Oleg Topolnitski, of the Russian-Slavic Party of Moldova.

Iulian Paciurca said the next and last meeting of the Electoral Council to decide the registration of the candidates could be held on April 21 given that the Council received positive appraisals over the integrity certificates of the applicants who are yet to be registered.
