Nine MPs leave seats

Nine persons vacated their seats of MP. On July 31, the legislative body accepted the resignations tendered by the nine, IPN reports.

The MP of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Valeriu Strelet left the seat because he was appointed Prime Minister, while Anatolie Dimitriu chose in favor of the post of head of Ialoveni district.

The parliamentary group of the Democratic Party (PDM) remained without Vlad Plahotniuc and Nicolae Molozea. The latter decided to take up the post of head of Stefan Voda district.

Another five seats in Parliament remained vacant after Liberal MPs transferred to the Cabinet. These are: Corina Fusu, who was named Minister of Education; Valeriu Munteanu – Minister of the Environment; Anatol Salaru – Minister of Defense; Iurie Chirinciuc – Minister of Transport, and Gheorghe Brega – Deputy Prime Minister for Social Matters.

The vacancies will be filled by the substitute candidates from parties’ lists, namely Nae-Simion Plesca and Octavian Grama of the PLDM, Vladimir Andronache and Corneliu Padnevici, of the PDM, Roman Botan, Stefan Vlas, Petru Cosoi, Alina Zotea, and Artur Gutium, of the Liberal Party.

The MP of the Party of Socialists Ion Ceban announced he will also vacate the seat in favor of the post of councilor of Chisinau, but hasn’t yet done it.
