Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu had a meeting with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Bridget Brink in Washington. The U.S. officials welcomed the implementation of over 90% of the provisions of the Moldova – EU priority reform action roadmap, noting the United States will assist Moldova in obtaining a country program with the IMF provided that all the conditions are met, IPN reports.
According to the Parliament’s press service, Victoria Nuland said she appreciates the synchronization and cooperation between the Government and Parliament of Moldova. “I congratulate the MPs and the Government in Chisinau for the achieved results. You showed that it is possible. Go on and you will enjoy our full support in doing reforms,” she stated.
For her part, Bridget Brink said the social dialogue, ensuring of consensus and continuation of reforms in Moldova are essential.
Andrian Candu is paying a working visit to the U.S. between September 28 and October 5.
