The Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” loses credibility and the disappointment of the people who took to the streets is the greatest risk threatening it, one of the Platform’s founders Oazu Nantoi said in the program “Interpol” on TV7 channel, IPN reports.
“The Civic Platform would have gained much more if it had classified the demands according to priority. It should have addressed the issues one by one and should have started with the resignation of institution heads and then with the resignations from key state posts. But they demanded everything at once, the resignations all together. This is impossible and the authorities do not even take them seriously,” stated Nantoi.
The politician considers that neither the early elections can take place now. “I admire these revolted people. Holding early elections is their main demand. But this is impossible. The Constitution does not allow this. Let’s imagine that early elections take place now. Things will not change. The Republic of Moldova will remain the same captive state affected by corruption. Those from the Platform should profit from the time that remained and should prepare for the next elections. In the period, the Platform’s leaders should focus on the captive elements of the state and destroy them,” stated Nantoi.
As to the formation of a political party based on the Platform “Dignity and Truth”, Nantoi said new people should come. “In the Republic of Moldova, it is impossible to build a party from political virgins. Anyway, if they decide to create a political platform based on the Platform, new people should come, able to root out corruption in the country,” he said.
Oazu Nantoi left the Platform “Dignity and Truth” after he joined the European People’s Platform of Moldova. After the local elections of June 2015, he entered the Chisinau Municipal Council.
