Oazu Nantoi: Ruling parties collapsed and should be replaced

The Electoral Bloc “European People’s Party of Moldova – Iurie Leanca” in the local elections banks on those voters who understood that the dirty money used by some of the parties in the election campaign do not bring welfare to the people, the bloc’s candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau Oazu Nantoi said in the talk show “Pahomiii” on Realitatea TV channel, IPN reports.

According to Nantoi, one of the goals pursued by Parliament by setting the local general elections for June 14 was to prevent the European People’s Party of Moldova from taking part in the elections. “The defective system wouldn’t have allowed us to register the party with the Ministry of Justice and we thus wouldn’t have taken part in the local elections. Initially, we gave up the idea of taking part in the local elections, but a lot of people urged us to become involved. Therefore, we created an electoral bloc. Three parties accepted our offer and agreed to work with us,” he said.

Oazu Nantoi also said that he decided to run for the mayoralty of Chisinau so that he has a clear conscience that he made effort to do something. “After the November 30 parliamentary elections, the parliamentary parties collapsed and became inefficient. They must be replaced. I repeatedly said that I’m disappointed in the political class. I saw how Chisinau changed, to the worst. I saw the inefficiency of the government. On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised by Iurie Leanca’s team. These are young, capable people who didn’t discredit themselves,” he stated.
