A Moldovan national with double citizenship was reported dead among the victims of a suspension bridge collapse in Genoa, Italy. This was conformed by the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The Italian press reported the Moldovan was a man in his forties.
Efforts continue to rescue survivors trapped in the debris as the death toll rose to 40.
The 100 meters’ tall suspension bridge, built in the 1960s as part of a major motorway linking the Italian coast to the French Riviera, crumbled down on Tuesday in heavy rainfall.
